Player Version#: 7.24.0.13705
The option to scan library files is now missing in the client on my NVIDIA Shield.
Same here. Hope its not intentional. This has to be brought back. I don’t want to have to my browser on my laptop everytime i see a file is missing in the library.
Same issue here as above.
Same here. I have been scanning using the app on my phone for the last few days as a workaround. Not very satisfactory.
This is not just a NVIDIA Shield issue, same is happening on my Sony Z9D Android TV.
I’m having the same issue unfortunately NVIDIA Shield here too.
 NVIDIA Shield here too.
I thought it was just me. I thought I was going mad. One minute it was there, then next time I went to use the feature it was gone. I hope someone from plex sees this and fixes it.
bring it back please !!!
And now I can’t even use the plugins from the app on my phone to trigger the scan !
I don’t want a cron scan, I only need to scan when I add content, I don’t want my NAS to wake up every now and then and scan to see if there’s something new !
Very disappointing, I have to use the server app to trigger the scan now…
Problem persists on Android TV player version 7.24.3.13840. However, I’ve noticed that I can now scan library files on my Android phone app which has the same version number; it couldn’t do it before.
Same here. What is the matter with the Plex team, bug after bug then things just disappear!
As the DVR software and EPG is completely unreliable now I use an alternative means to record programs, these are dropped into a folder that is a library on Plex. Even though Plex is set to scan on seeing file changes, it doesn’t (another bug presumably) so I need the Scan Library from the Android App to get the programs to show in order to watch them. Now that option is gone, I need to go to my PC to trigger a scan first, which is ridiculous.
A response from Plex would be good, why has it gone, and when is it coming back?
Same here. It’s ridiculous that the devs would remove such an important feature. Talk about a downgraded update.
im sure it will be back i have seen a dev acknowlege this issue.
ps it makes sense to have whatever app put the content/linux isos in plex call a library scan… alot of apps have the ability to run a script after “completion” - you can trigger a plex library update from a script.
Same issue here, this is really annoying and debilitating for the app .
Same here, if you remove updates to the plex app via the setting on the shield it reverts back to the factory setting version of the plex app. The library scan option is back. (If you remember how to do it from way back when) not ideal as I prefer the side bar option but its it’s something until they fix the issue.
Same issue here. Option is gone on my shield.
Same here, the option is gone from the Shield app. Alienating for those of us who add files manually on occasion.
Same issue here and please fix the rewind functionality as it is horrible on the Plex sometimes it hangs for over 30 seconds.
I add manually as well. Plex is useless without the option to scan for new titles.
i belive they have fixed this already i see this option in the beta version
