I 100% agree with you about how has it taken them THIS long to track down a VERY common issue that happens on almost every nvidia shield out there. Makes no sense to me at all. I have said this before, stop adding new stuff (that most people don’t care about) and focus on just fixing the product that we all paid for. Spend 2 to 3 released on just fixing the long standing bugs and then spend another release or so fixing the bugs you introduced.
I love Plex… don’t get me wrong but it could be a lot better.
Are you referring to the latest beta release? If so, did you not see the release note.
This is the first 1.15.x series release on Nvidia SHIELD. Please Note that the creation of new “Premium Music” libraries on the SHIELD is currently unsupported and all existing Premium Music libraries will gracefully fall back to using standard library matching.
yes I read the release notes but as you said a fix was coming soon (19 days ago) I foolishly assumed it might have been this one regardless of the premium feature being removed. Afterall you did state that music artwork is not a premium feature.
I would also like a solution to this problem. I’m now running a seperate PLEX-server on my NAS for music, because artwork is found without problems on the NAS. I’ve tried migrating that library to the SHIELD, but haven’t managed to do so.
Running two PLEX servers within the same network is not really ideal. Please Shield-plex devs, help us out
Echoed here - Additionally, why is it that Premium Music Libraries have been deprecated (at least on the Shield, as far as I understand it).
Talk about killing the goose that laid the golden egg. I am considering demanding a refund for what I consider now to be a fruitless piece of aggravation into which I have wasted a great deal of time to resolve issues that SHOULD NEVER have been allowed to pass QA/Testing let alone being unleashed in the wild. When you compound this with the length of time it has taken to even appear to get the problem acknowledged, this is just Ludicrous!
@Mw1966, a quick google tells me Plex are $100 million a year company so you would like to think they could afford a refund or some kind of compensation for removing features that many users would have subscribed to to get.
But as they havent offered anything this further proves what I already think
Plex do not care about support, this is a fact. You only need to browse the forums to see this.
Their business philosophy seems to be ‘Lets arract as many users as possible with more and more features’ rather than ‘Lets take care of our existing customers by fixing the stuff we broke’.
As soon as Emby sort out their transcoding issues I’ll be off faster than you can say ‘Plex Sucks’
Are they BLIND eyes? What can ALL the people do that have posted in this thread do to HELP you guys OUT??? I got an extra shield not doing anything, I have access to at 16GB and PRO ALL day from work, I can give you logs, I can install test builds… I do QA work for a living… and MY EYES are good!
I’ve also been affected by this issue for at least the past year or so. I use Plex primarily for streaming my music library, so it is a bit of a drag not seeing album artwork for anything in my library.
I’m also happy to provide logs or anything else that might be needed to get this resolved ASAP.
Recent pass subscriber here…same issue - no artwork but artwork is in the folder. Also did not realize that premium music libraries are now not available on the shield : (.
Idiots couldnt organise a trip to the beach if they were trapped on a desert island.
Installed Emby, everything works with alot of cool features Plex can only dream of developing and implementing. And Emby care about their customers with super quick responses.
MovieFan.Plex, I hope I never ever ever have to read another of your few and far between pointless posts.
We believe we have a fix for this pesky issue, and it should be included in the upcoming Plex Media Server beta release (1.16.3). (All that should be required is a refresh of metadata for things to fix themselves after updating)
Apologies for the length delay in fixing this issue.
