My job is to take reports of problems and relay them to the devs, which I’ve done. I’m not a coder so I can’t actually fix the problems.
There is a bug related to using the usb drives. I’ve also reported this.
So are the developers actually looking at this issue or is it still sat in a issue queue at number 4,555,665 and being pushed back because its mainly effecting the users that dont subscribe?

Same problem here! Weirdly enough this has only started happening recently, maybe since the last update to PMS (running on a Shield TV 2017). My current PMS version is 1.14.1.5488. I have the agent set t Last.fm for the music library, and none of the artist or album artwork is displayed on the web client or on my Shield TV client. However, if I edit the artist of album (by clicking the pencil icon), and select the Poster tab, I see the artwork.
Any update on this one? We got Logs, we got all the information you should need to fix this issue. Album/Artist is there when I click edit and go to the cover art, its just not selected. How hard is it to just have it select the cover art that is already there? Why does this take 6 months to fix?
Just spend another 30 min or so click on cover art and just selecting it. This is getting REAL old Plex… Just admit you are never going to fix this and nobody should be using the Nvidia shield as a plex server.
@anon18523487 were you able to replicate this on your end, or should we wait for the 1.15 PMS to be released for the Shield… maybe it’s fixed there?
Yes, any news on this one. That would be awesome if this was fixed in 1.15 (whenever that will be released to the shield). I didn’t see anything in the notes that would pertain to this but you never know. Just an update would be great! Spent another 30 minutes today, just click on the album and ADDING the coverart that is already there.
Pleasssssse fix it. I love Plex, but it’s horrible to add the cover manually.

If you are a music lover with a huge collection then look to Roon for internal streaming.
For external streaming look to Emby.
Both Roon and Emby care about their customers and answer every post with help and issues are fixed very quickly.
Plex is clearly run by people who don’t care, simply trying to attract as many new users as they can with features that aren’t implemented at all well.
Dont believe me? Then run a trial of Roon and sign up to a trial of Tidal to see how perfectly Roon and Tidal are integrated with your own music collection.
Then look at Plex and see their integration with Tidal – its a joke!
Install Emby, have an issue, post it and see the help you get!!
I’m guessing Plex is now so big that they spend money on development but not on support like virtually every other company out there.

Going to post these logs after I added like 30 albums. Not like anyone will look at them… but makes me feel good!
I have recently got an Nvidia Shield and was really looking forward to using Plex to host my media. This is a deal breaker for me. I have also read in these forums that the plex dvr doesnt work very well. If i am going to pay for a service I expect it to work. So i think will ditch plex too and move to Emby and I don’t need the frustration.
FWIW, as it has been said above, as soon as I signed up to 1 month plex premium and rescanned as a paid subrsciber the cover art worked straight away. So it can be done and no matter what lies Plex are coming up with, they ARE discriminating between paid/unpaid users.
@anon18523487 make no mistake: Your inaction (both personally in your role and PLEX as a company) is now costing Plex customers, both unpaid and would be subscribers.
I will not be recommending Plex to anyone now. Goodbye.

Any update on this? Same issue as all the rest. Can’t believe resolution is to pay!
People keep saying you have to pay… but this is not the case. I have been a plex pass member for over 2 years and I am running a premium music library and I STILL have the issue.
I add new albums almost every day and 80% of the time, I have to go in and just SELECT the band or album art.
They say it’s the SAME code on all the devices but this only really seems to be happening on the Nvidia shield. Seems like the Dev’s should be able to repo this in like 10 min and then DEBUG!!!
You have the issue even with the Pass?! Interesting. Either way i refuse to believe they haven’t tracked down the issue by now. Either they don’t want to fix it or they are just plain incompetent.
To use emby you have to pay 4.99 regardless…for plex to work “I” have to pay 4.99…you can’t win.
I am moving to kodi for local content…such a nicer interface. Plex is just locked down and a pain. Emby is similar.
I have other ways to acces my music…eg port forwarding to nas…but looking for an enjoyable experience.
