Nvidia Shield Plex app player become unresponsive when you try to rewind near the end of a playing video

Per the subject: Nvidia Shield Plex app player become unresponsive when nearing the end of a playing program.

Repeatable when playing most any video - when you get near the end of the program, if you try to rewind, the picture will go black and the video stops playing (but the timeline keeps counting as though the video is still going). At this point, the only thing you can do is drop out of that video and restart.

Have noticed this issue for some time, but just now getting frustrated enough to try and get it sorted.

Ran into this issue again last night. Also ran into the issue where the Shield’s Plex app keeps playing a title despite it having already ended. That issue is a pretty common occurrence as well.

I experience the same behavior. I’m going to switch to an older plex client version on my Shield.

How far back do you have to go to get a working Plex app for the Shield?

I’m going to try somewhere around 8.0.0 to 7.30.0. It may not be necessary to go back that far, but those are the last ones that I believe were stable and worked properly for my setup.

Plex player on Nvidia Shield is very broken… many, many problems with it and Plex developers should be very ashamed. Since some of the updates have made it worse and worse. I now pretty much use the Kodi app on my Nvidia to watch anything. I would like to use Plex, but until they really get things fixed… it is TOOOO painful.

Are you talking about when you let something play to the end without backing out early, if you then go to the Android home screen it pops up the ‘Currently Playing’ notification?
