Server Version#:Newest version for Nvidia shield
Plex server running on shield since updating buffers constantly on all devices I’ve tried. Samsung TV, LG TV, Amazon fire stick, PC. The problem has to be this newest update for Nvidia Shield Plex server. The only way I can get video to play without buffering is when playing a file that is very low quality.
On the nvidia shield itself playback is fine.
I’m seeing similar issue with playback on certain videos also - not everything. All clients experiencing issue - does appear to be a server problem. Running BETA PMS Version Available - 1.18.0.1846 on Shield. Seems to have started recently.
Seems to be related to direct play from the shield. If I downgrade the quality and force to transcode, the buffering stops. Experimented with this on Android and native web client. I can supply more debug to assist if Plex support would like to help out?
Note I am on a local network with plenty of bandwidth…so thinking that’s not the issue here.
I ended up deleting the plex server/app from my shield. Then just redownload it and making a new server. Mind you I didn’t delete my movies & shows just the server. After I did that the server seems to be back to normal. Hope that helps.
