Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 hangs 30 seconds at the beginning of every Movie

For about 8 weeks now (I can’t pinpoint the time frame because we don’t use it every day) the Nvidia Shield in my theater room hangs at the start of every movie for approximately 30-45 seconds, then starts the movie. The spinning wheel of doom I now call it. You can’t exit from it, for whatever reason, you just have to let it run it’s course.

TV shows in 4K, 1080p with any sound format, including DTS or Dolby Atmos sound are fine, it’s only movies and it doesn’t matter of the movie is in 1080p or in 4K, has DTS or Dolby sound.

What is more bizarre is that my downstairs Nvidia Shield Pro 2017 model exhibits none of this behavior.

I’ve cleared the cache on the Plex app. I’ve uninstalled it, rebooted the shield and reinstalled it to no avail.

I’ve been over the settings with a fine tooth comb in both the Player and Server and don’t find anything that could attribute to the issue.

Hoping someone can assist or has ran into this before.

Finally had some time do dive into this further for a couple hours. Through a myriad of troubleshooting. I finally narrowed it down to the Cinema Intro preroll. Though oddly enough, about 1 out of 6-7 attempts to play different movies worked without issue.

I’ve been using this custom intro that I made for several years so I’m not sure why all of the sudden it’s an issue now in the last couple of months. Once I removed the custom preroll. All movies now play without any 30-45 seconds. spinning circle of doom.

Why this only effects the Nvidia Shield Pro and not my Nvidia Shield 2017, I have no idea either. Both are direct play.

I’ll run it through MKVToolNix and remux it to see if that has any affect
