Hello, long story but I will try to tell a quick summary
Plex lifetime member on nvidia shield pro
Has been working great with a 5TB WD passport via USB
Upgraded to a 20Gb WD red
Plugged the red via usb, set up as external drive, and then on PC copied all my Blu-ray’s into movies folder
Plugged the red back into shield
Had issues pointing to the library on the new drive
Factory reset the shield pro
Launched Plex and get stuck on media server setup failed. Haven’t eve
In the web app.Plex.tv I have deleted the old server from the old drive. Inseey profile but no server and feel there is probably something more I need to do here.

Solved. Followed a YouTube video and they did not check the box to use default file system, but elected to do it manually. It allowed PMS to complete and I pointed to the drive

Do you mind sharing which video you followed on YouTube?

Sure. At the 4:30 mark he goes through his steps, and unchecks default libraries. Worked for me.

I’m having the exact same issue, I even factory reset the shield , I even made a whole new Plex account. Nothing works! Please help it’s a nightmare . I tried what you did too and nothing
