Nvidia Shield Pro Plex Media Server missing in Plex App Settings

Plex Media Server version 1.40.2.8395 (smb)
Plex App version 10.14.0.541 (4f9fb644)

Hi there,

The other day my Plex connection to my media stopped working on my Nvidia Shield Pro. Nothing had changed, and there were no recent updates that I know of. I have an external JBOD attached to the Shield with my media and an SSD to store the Shield apps, and I have the “Transfer files over local network” turned on so my computer can access those drives.

I tried clearing cache and clearing data, then starting from scratch. I get as far as adding the folders back in for the media, but then when I try playing, there’s a playback error (sometimes it’s a Error code: s1001, or another playback error).

When I connect to those drives to the Plex app on my computer via the ethernet connection (the drives are still attached to the Shield), I can play the files.

I’ve cleared the cache again and restarted the Shield, and when I go into Plex, the server has the warning triangles next to them and won’t connect. In the Plex settings, the spot under PLEX MEDIA SERVER is empty. There should be a button saying it’s running, and one for storage.

I’ve tried reinstalling the Server and Plex app multiple times with the same results. The only thing I haven’t done is a hard reset of the Shield because then I’d have to redo all the customizations and that would be a pain.

Has anyone run into something similar?

Thanks in advance
