Nvidia Shield Pro occasional infinite loading icon (on play)

Server Version#: 1.25.2.5319 (Unraid docker)
Player Version#: 8.27.2.29938 (Nvidia Shield Pro)

Hi All, I’m hoping either someone can help or there are others that have this issue also;

Occassionally when I play a video on my Nvidia Shield Pro, it will trigger the loading icon and just sit there, and do nothing - I can leave it there for 5 minutes and nothing will happen.
If I hit back and play the video again, sometimes it’ll work, sometimes it’ll do the same thing. Most of the time navigating up one level on a TV show or to a different hub (movie to tv, tv to movie) and back to play the same item, it will play as normal.

I have turned on network logging on the Player - please see attached.
I have also attached server logs for the same time - please see attached.

A confirmed time of the event in the logs is at 12-24 18:09 (right down the bottom on both log files)

I can see in the server logs the message -

Failed to stream media, client probably disconnected after 124780544 bytes: 104 - Connection reset by peer

I can confirm I did not stop playing the video at this time (in fact went to my computer to save the logs)

There appears to be a repeating pattern within the client logs, unsure if this means anything?
It goes on until I have to stop the infinite loading icon (Ubereats had arrived!)

Any help to fix this issue would be appreciated

I’m also seeing this problem with a shield pro running off a Mac server.

It looks to me like a problem with the client, not the server - but no idea what it could be. It seems like the client believes it’s actually playing? (Based on the timestamps in the logs)

Seems to be a common problem from reading a number of past posts, I might just go back to using the tvs client as my default player.

Yeah it’s a common problem, on the client side

I get this on both my Shield and the androidTV app on my Bravia. The android client has always been Plex’s nasty child.

If I reboot my Shield it will generally clear up for awhile. Clearing the apps cache does nothing.

Is your TV’s client Android or something else?

Yes clearing the cache did nothing for me as well.
Fixing it for me ranges to simply clicking on the video again, up to restarting the whole Shield.
Don’t really want to move to a different device/player as the Shield goes go well, and it’s the only way I seem to be able to stream TrueHD/DTS-HD MA.

Oh webOS, it’s never caused me any issues so far.

I only bought the shield for trueHD really. As a device I’m finding it quite buggy tbh.

Yeah that’s why I switched from my actual TV (also Android TV) for Shield is for the Bitstream audio.
This is pretty much the only bug that has managed to sink into the brain - happens daily, usually (but not always) when I turn the TV on and choose something.

Also have this issue, Windows PMS. I cannot recall it doing in the past just lately. And on any movie/series.
