Having issues where connections to my server are unsecured and display the below screen (on web player).
Additionally, none of my shared content is viewable by friends
Unable to connect to "SHIELD " securely
Its "Secure connections" setting may be set to disabled, or you may need to adjust some settings on your network.
If you have turned off the security on your server, your friends will need to enable the setting in their apps to “always allow insecure connections”
My shield it set to “Allow insecure connections: NEVER”
And your’re able to access your server? That doesn’t seem right.
yes I can access my server on shield fine
when playing content on shield no errors everything is great
ONLY WHEN ACCESSING via web do I get the error
AND side issue my friends CANNOT see content when clicking on my server name in web app, just have a retry button.
But the content shows in their “shares” page
Something is not right. If you’ve disabled the security setting, then the Android app should not be able to access your server if it’s security setting is set to never. Can you start playback of something from your Shield, just about 30 seconds. Then get me the log from the app. Android, Android TV, Fire TV Logs | Plex Support
Then do the same thing from Plex Web and get me that log. Plex Web App Logs | Plex Support
Edit - For web, try accessing it using the local http URL and add “?secure=0” at the end.
Ok, just to make sure we are on the same page
Server in on Shield, sever version = v1.20.3.3483
Allow insecure connection = NEVER
Able to play content on plex shield app no problem. Logs attached

Able to play content on plex web app, first gives message about insecure connection, then i click allow insecure connections, playback works no problem (if i go directly to secure=0, skips the allow insecure connection prompt) Logs to be attached soon
Ok, that’s expected. Using that option to switch to an insecure connection or adding the secure=0 to the URL does the same thing. I’m still surprised the Shield works. I’m checking if maybe there is an exception since the client app and server are both running on the same machine.
Either way. The issue with your friends should be that they need to allow insecure connections on their clients too.
They’ve allowed and still cant content. Also whats the issue with my server not handling secure connections, I’d rather everything be secure and use https and TLS

Ok. Your logs look fine. That is what I would expect if you had your security disabled. You need to use the insecure connection method. This is what’s being done now, so this is all correct.
You’ll need to restart PMS after making that change to the security setting. Your friend’s devices should connect correctly now. If not, I’ll need logs from them.
