Nvidia Shield TV 2017 APP problem (Not The Server)

I am having some videos which constantly “jitter” for both video and audio while other plays okay on my Nvidia Shield TV PLEX App Version 6.17.0.4824. The videos that are causing a problem are all .mkv videos under 1 GB. Other videos of the same type and size play fine. These same videos play perfectly fine on all of my other PLEX Apps including my Android Mobile PLEX App. The videos I am having problems playing at my home play perfectly fine on my PLEX app on my android phone when I am 300 miles away from home. I have tried everything I can think of but I can’t get them to play on the PLEX app for Nvidia Shield TV.

I have the SPMC app on my Nvidia Shield TV and it plays everything flawlessly and instantly (videos start much faster than PLEX) including the videos that Plex is having problems with. I also have a ROKU that also plays everything flawlessly with the PLEX app. I am glad I have some alternative choices that work but I want to consolidate everything onto PLEX on the Nvidia Shield TV. I just want to know if I’m doing something wrong or if there is a problem with the PLEX App for the Nvidia Shield TV and if there is what is the ETA on a fix?

Here is my setup: PLEX Server (v 1.13.0.5023-31d3c0c65) running on a Synology DS916+ with 8GB ram, 1Gb wired network, PLEX App (v 6.17.0.4824) on Nvidia Shield TV 2017 connected via ethernet.

In Plex client settings, set display information = on.

When playing video, pull up on-screen controls (pause, etc). Look in upper left corner. It will tell you if video is direct playing, direct streaming, or transcoding. If one of the latter two, it will give a reason.

What does it say when you play one of the problematic videos?

Also, please send Plex XML or MediaInfo text formatted output for same video.

Sorry for the delay. I will definitely check on that today after work. Since my original post I have also noticed that when I access Netflix the video will freeze on occasion while the audio keeps playing. Once I reset Netflix it usually does not happen again. This made me think that the problem may be with the Nvidia Shield but as I mentioned before other video apps on the Shield play flawlessly.

One of the videos that is causing problems says that it is “Direct Play” & the player is “ExoPlayer v2”. A different video that is playing fine also says that it is “Direct Play”. I have attached the XMl files for both a good and bad video file.
