Nvidia Shield update removes Plex Server Permission

If you are using and Nvidia Shield to run your Plex server, be aware the latest update for the Nvidia Shield itself, not the Plex server update from Google play store, but the update for the Shield, has a small flaw. The server will be running and will be reachable, however if you try to play anything it will show the following error “The file associated with this item is not accessible by the server” Here is the explanation and fix:
The update added a new option to an existing feature, this will change your server’s ability to access directly attached, and NAS on your network.
On your Shield go to ‘Settings’/Then ‘Apps’/Next ‘Show System Apps’/Click ‘Plex Media Server’/Then 'Files and Media, finally click the ‘Allow all the time’ option. The update switched the setting from ‘Allow all the Time’ to ‘Allow only while using app’.
Hope this is your fix.

It did indeed, thanks!

I don’t have that as an option, I see

  • Allow only while using the app
  • Don’t allow

Is there another setting to enable that?

EDIT:
@icemonkey 's path is correct. You have to go into System Apps and Plex Media Server. I was going to Apps>Plex.

Thank you!!

Thanks all working again
