I’ve tried to ask in multiple places and have been ignored. The Alex Jones Podcast, which is vile and repugnant and not popular, continually appears as the top Recommendation in Podcasts. It has nothing to do with anything I have subscribed to (which are largely apolitical podcasts). Will this be corrected? Or should I now assume that the developers of Plex are pushing conspiracy theories and I need to uninstall all versions of the software?

Yoiks! I guess just having something show up in a list that you find distasteful is cause for grandiose assumptions.

And if you call having nearly 2.5 million YouTube subscribers “unpopular” then I guess you should get to uninstalling Plex. A.S.A.P.!

you can disable Podcasts if you don’t want it, in your account settings at
http://app.plex.tv/desktop?secure=0#!/settings/online-media-sources

Popular or not, distasteful or not, the OP was asking about making a “recommendation” go away. Not disable Podcasts altogether since there were other things subscribed to.

Personally, I think it’s a fair question to ask how podcast recommendations come to be.

On first launch they are just a set of popular podcasts. When you start actually listening they are based on listening habits and are similar podcasts to what you listen to, just like News

I have disabled podcast in the online media sources per the instructions. Yet, everytime I launch the Plex app in android the podcast are still there regardless of which user I log in with. How can I fully remove the podcast?

This is a known bug in the Android app and will get fixed in a future update.

A likely-related issue is that a search will return results matching news or podcasts even though those are disabled.
