It was only iplayer & 4D or is it 4oD ? That compatibility mode affected

Thanks, Mikedm has diagnosed the issue and there is a fix for this coming.

The fix for the hidden channels has been rolled into the latest Plexconnect on Github. You should not have to disable compatibility checking anymore to see BBC Player, Netflix, etc.

We received an atv3 for Christmas and finally got started using it last month. We have a few channels that are working no problem, but most seem to not be working. Mostly we get the "Plex Connect No response from Plex Media Server" but we sometimes just get Trailers Unavailable Try again later. We completely uninstalled it and reinstalled everything but it's still not working-although the reinstall did get a couple of other channels to work at least.

 

  • Your ATV model (2 or 3) and firmware version: ATV3 software 5.3

  • The DNS server set on the ATV: 192.168.1.192

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that PlexConnect is installed on: Macbook OSX version 10.8.4

  • The local IP address of the device that PlexConnect is installed on: 192.168.1.192

  • The device and operating system (including version number) that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: same Macbook OSX version 10.8.4

  • The Plex media server (PMS) version number you are running (**do not put 'latest'**): 0.9.7.28.33-f80a4a2

  • The local IP address of the device that the Plex media server (PMS) is installed on: 192.168.1.192

  • The PlexConnect version number 0.1-iOS-pre5.1 downloaded 6/19/13 from https://github.com/i...tallation-guide

  • The content of your 'Settings.cfg' file

  • [PlexConnect]

  • port_pms = 32400

  • A detailed description of the issue (the clearer you can make this the better): We were able to get Crackle, Funny or Die, and Spike to work. A&E, Comedy Central, Food Network, HGTV, NBC, CW, WB, CBS, SSplex, LetMeWatchThis, and IceFilms all don't work. Not sure if we got the plexpass and were able to get the paid version if that would solve these issues or not since some of my searching has shown the RMTP being a problem and it seems to be linked to my version.

  • Ensure you post your 'PlexConnect.log' file to pastebin and post the link http://pastebin.com/CMNfQpah

Right now Channels are not fully supported in Plexconnect. We are working hard to see what can be done to get as many working as possible and there are a few fixes in the pipeline that will be implemented soon.


Please look at the table in the first post of this thread. It will let you know which channels have been found to work and which ones have not. It is not comprehensive but is a start. We request patience until we nail down the basics on the Plexconnect/channels interactions.


RTMP is the major issue right now and it effects both PMS 9.7.28 and Plexconnect at the moment. Icefilms, letmewatchthis and SSPlex should work (they do for me) but there is no point troubleshooting specific cases until the RTMP issue is dealt with.

Thanks Institute! I looked at the list and saw that many of the ones that aren't working for me are reported as working, so that's why I figured I'd post and see if someone could see something wrong that I couldn't. Is the RMTP issue fixed by getting a plexpass and getting the newer version? I thought some of my reading and searching found that they have a newer version that wasn't having that problem.

The PlexPass version will fix the RTMP issue on clients other than Plexconnect (downgrading to the version before 9.7.2.8 should work too). The Plexconnect issue will also require the plugin framework of PMS to be updated to recognize Plexconnect version 0.2. Baa has put the necessary code in Plexconnect just recently and we are waiting on the framework update.

I am intrigued as to why SSPlex, LetMeWatchThis and Icefilms are not working though. They have worked for me for some time.

I'd love to know why too. I have an atv1 with xbmc on it and was really hoping to make this one work similarly. The other weird thing is that 9 times out of 10, when we first select something it goes to the same Plex Connect No response screen, but if you try it again, sometimes even a few tries, it will eventually get to the listing of shows, or with the few channels that work, get to a working episode. Every now and then we get the spinning white wheel and get all excited that one of the non-working channels is now working, but then we get an Error connecting screen after a few minutes. Very strange indeed.

Unix7481, I just realized you are running an old version of Plexconnect and that may be causing issues for you with plugins. Try using the latest from github since you have an ATV3 with software 5.3. This link will download a zip file with the latest.

General FYI: You must be using a version of Plexconnect that is newer than June 28, 2013 for it to play media through SSplex, Icefilms or LetMeWatchThis. RTMP compatibility should not be an issue with these plugins.

Institute I think I love you! I downloaded what you posted, and I got an error from Port 80 because of dropbox, but I restarted my computer and boom ssplex is working. I don't know how I ended up with an older version of it since I just downloaded it, but it's working now. Thanks so much!!!

I hate that this is actually a beggar being a chooser, and folks I am so sorry about that.

 

I find that I am not using Channels due to living in Canada and none of the ones I'd watch work. I have not used Search as the other menus work far better to find what I am looking for (THANK YOU for Genres, Decade, and Resolution SO MUCH!)

 

I know a lot of time and energy went into the programming to provide those two things, so please be gentle in my request to just remove them altogether. 

 

Can this be done?

On certain channels if there’s a YouTube link/stream it Won’t play for me , is this a plexconnect issue?

Don't be so lazy ;)

You should really see yourself if you get the error on e.g. the desktop client and mobile client (preferable iOS).
