It refers to playing multi-part media, one piece after another, instead of just playing a single file. The full episode of the Colbert Report, for example, rather than being one single file, is actually two files. This new capability tells Plexconnect to play the next file up.
Have not tried it yet, are you referring to something like torrent?

I got it. I have a few movies like that but haven’t played them yet through plexconnect. great update then!
No it is not like a torrent. It is more like a long film like The Fellowship of the Rings being made into two separate files but still constituting the same movie. If they are named correctly PMS and Plexconnect will play the first file and then the second file without stopping.
How's fixin "UseRealRTMP" FW Flags going?
Also is anyone updating the Google Docs data sheet in the 1st post with what does/does't work?
Plex people say it will be done any day now. I have nothing more specific than that.
I have been updating the spreadsheet with new information as I receive it.
Just so I understand , when the framework is updated , is this an update for plex server ? & plexconnect. Also is it plex pass only thing? Sorry bit thick when it comes too the workings of plex.
Could someone let us know how too update the plex system when released .
Cheers
Riche
It’s an automatic update for PMS. You will not have to do anything.
Right ok, see said I was thick . Lol
I am sure it will be announced here once it happens.
Thanks, I haven't noticed it being updated. I'll pull a fresh local copy and check out ones I have; however don't view that often.

Hi folks I'm getting the "Trailers is unavailable. Try again later." message when trying to access the NASA channel. It appears as working on the spreadsheet, tested on July 2, 2013, I can corroborate that it was working a few weeks ago. I pulled a new version of PlexConnect today, although I'm not completely sure if thats when the problem started.
OSX 10.8.4
PMS 0.9.8.5
Plexconnect pulled Aug 12, 2013
Apple TV 3
iOS 5.3
Thx!
Thanks for the heads up mhdz. Looks like they have been working on the plugin. It is now RTMP based so it won't work on Plexconnect (until the new framework is pushed out) or with PMS 9.7.28. I edited the spreadsheet.
I've read through this whole set of postings and didn't see the "DVBLink" channel mentioned anywhere. I have PMS on my Synology NAS working great, but am thinking of purchasing a ATV3 and setting PMS up with DVBlink on my Synology for my OTA/LIVE TV recording needs - and they have a DVBLink channel plugin for PMS.
Because of this I of course am unable to test this setup since I'm only thinking of doing this, but am very interested to know if anyone already has Plexconnect working on ATV3 with DVBLink channel working?
I suggest submitting a separate thread for this request in order to attract people who might be interested in trying this out. I don’t have a NAS or a windows box, and little interest in OTA TV, although I am sure their are many people who do. You need to direct your post to them more directly.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have done this here for those who are interested following it's results:

Good News. Looks like the PMS framework.bundle update has finally been pushed out. PMS now recognizes the Plex-version number for Plexconnect and so can now recognize/play RTMP based plugins like the newly updated BBC iPlayer, CBS, Navi-X and numerous others. Now if these plugins do not work for you it is not because of the RTMP issue
I will update the spreadsheet to reflect this event. Thanks everyone at Plex for getting this done.
Recent additions to Channel spreadsheet in first post:
July 27 Apple Trailer Channel now works with Plexconnect
July 30, added ITV Player, Movie2K
Aug 2, added South Park
With the stacked files implementation and with it showing up on the supported list, I thought that all would be well with South Park, but I have had zero luck with it moving on to the next segment. After the first part (typically ~9 mins), it just throws back to the play screen. Is anyone else having success with it moving on to the next part? Or is it just me? For what it's worth, this is only an issue with PlexConnect, as it moves to the next part on all the other clients I've tested. Thanks.
I can confirm that South Park does not move onto to the next section… Baa, looks like another example to test your stacked file implementation against.

Does it need transcoding?
