Official channels sticky

I was hoping to find someone that can make a .bundle for mashup that is like icefilms x10. It is a awsome plugin for xbmc and if it could get ported to plex media center in the unoffical app store it would be great since it has content such as hd oneclickwatch and so much more. If it is not possible to get mashup to work could we get noobroom to work as a bundle. This is one of the most organized apps I have seen for video streaming and would be such a great option for plexconnect to use. Take icefilms, navi-x, 1channel & combine them all and you still would not even come close to this plugin. Its crashes my appletv using xbmc, I was hoping plexconnect would come to the rescue. I even spoke to the dev to see if it would be an issue porting it and he said go for it. If plex channels is the holy grail of plexconnect this is the holy grail to unofficial plex channels.

This is the github if anyone would like to take a crack at it:

You are better off posting requests for individual channels in the Plex Channel forum. I would also suggest making one topic for each channel you are interested in having developed.

Since plexconnect supports RTMP streams now, does that mean foodnetwork will with with atv?

It doesn’t seem to be working with Plexconnect although it does work with iOS client. I am using a DNS service to get around geoblocking so someone in the states might want to double check this.

Hi Guys, im new to the forum but a long time user of Plex.

I really want to help get the Canadian channels working with PlexConnect.  Recently it seems like more and more channels are not working.  Is there anything I can do to help?

I noticed in the google spreadsheet at the beginning of this topic that it needs updating:

-Discovery Channel Canada works

-CTV is not listed

Thats it for now, I didnt review the whole list but I can if someone is listening and will update that info.

Yeah I’m in sydney ( not sure if that makes a diff) but I’m finding less & less channels seem to be not working anymore, with the more frequent plexconnect . Also found I’m having an error on first attempt to connect to a channel , then second or third time will see content.
Just doesn’t seem as fluid as it used to be ?
Same with navix used to get a few streams working in now nothing at all.
Cheers
Riche

I’ve said this before but I will say it again. Channels are never stable or static. The media providers are constantly tweaking their sites for a myriad of reasons and, as we know, Plexconnect has many obstacles it is constantly adapting to which can also cause things to break.

At this point, believe it or not, Plexconnect is one of the better non-Mac non-desktop Plex clients. This said, there will be issues; do not expect to have some divine right to functioning channels. Join in on the troubleshooting, go to the main thread in the Plex Channels forum for the particular channel you are interested in. Etc. etc.

My main goal for this thread was to get channels working on Plexconnect, in general, not to be a forum for everyone’s gripe about any one particular channel; again, that is what the Plex Channel forum is for

Since i upgraded to Mavericks. Channels are no go. When going to Channels tab on Plexconnect I get

19:23:18 WebServer: serving .xml: /channels/all

19:23:18 PlexAPI: No Response from Plex Media Server

19:23:18 PlexAPI: We failed to reach a server. Reason: Unauthorized

Does someone know why? I can use Iphone to play these channels and then airplay to atv3 but not directly from plexconnect on atv3.

I just upgraded to Mavericks and everything is working with Plexconnect, including channels. Perhaps if you go to the Plexconnect settings and play around with the Plex Media Server and MyPlex settings.

Update: Reading other topics, I just realized you have had a few issues with Plex Media Server since you installed Mavericks. Have you tried reinstalling PMS, or installing the most up to date version?

The other issue that you might have read was mostly associated to couple of files , because i played around other files and all played well but only 2 files I had kept on crashing the PMS.

Version for PMS i have is 0.9.8.4 , will try to fiddle around and see if somehow channels start working.

The Twit.TV Live stream is working again in the Twit.TV channel! It had stopped working after the SSL changeover. Baa must have tweaked something. Cool.

I did?

Well... :-D

I didn’t say you did it intentionally

Maybe someone fixed the channel itself. Or the website?

And it just happened to break at roughly the same time as Apple changed over to https?

I really have no idea. :-)

Hell guys, I need some help! I was able to install Plex on my ATV3 v5.2.1 and I can watch my movies with no problem. But the problem comes when I try to watch a channel, I either get "Trailer is unavailable. Try again later" or "An error occurred loading this content." Im using OSX running Mavericks. Any help is appreciated :(

Here its my python log:

was trying to play Comedy Central but don't have anything downloaded on the server lol -_- , but I do have VEVO and I still get same error  "Trailer unavailable...."

Last time I tried the Plex Vevo plugin it did not work with Plexconnect. I uninstalled it once Vevo was added to the ATV, itself.

Lol okay

1 more thing, is there a command for when I close python and reopen it? Because if I close it and want to open it again again the log throws an error on the HTTP [43] that is already in use. Only way I see to make it work is by restarting my computer

You should shut down PlexConnect nicely - CTRL-C. Doing so PlexConnect will free up all used resources.

When "just" closing terminal, nobody really knows what happens...

Hey, I noticed in your google doc that no one has tested the Pandora plugin... I'd like to get that up and running on the ATV via plexconnect... institute11 I saw you said to talk about that in the channel forum which I will do... However from my initial probing I can tell you that it does not seem to work with plexconnect, but it does seem to work with iOS and MacOS X clients.

Tested: Nov 5, 2013

Plugin Version: 3964fa3 (Wed Feb  6 19:12:10 UTC 2013)

from the Info.plist:

framework: 2

client platforms: *

region: US

When I get a better chance I'm planning to dig into the existing code to see if i can get it to work... Unless someone else wants to take a crack at it?

Regardless the plugin seems to have a strange layout and IMO probably just needs to be overall rewritten to give a playback experience in line with user expectations.

Pandora requires an account and I have never been interested so I have not tested it. Fill your boots though if you are.
