Old movies showing up in recently released row

A handful of old movies are showing up in my recently released section with an incorrect date

Bad Country (2014)

IMDB

These movies have all been in my file system and on Plex for years matched correctly

All other information appears to be correct except for the date

Refresh metadata and library scan does nothing

Any idea what might be happening?

Looks like Plex is pulling the CA release date for you from IMDb…

Plex can call 2014 movies 2022 movies for their free on demand content. Don’t use it, don’t care

But I think they need to figure out a way to leave peoples personal movie collections out of this “creative marketing” idea

While I agree, this doesn’t look like a “problem” This appears to be happening purposely

The same movies this happened to months ago are still wrong and now new ones are being changed too

After 9 years we decided some obscure (internet) release date for Argentina would be the authority?

As more content gets added to “free on demand” shall we expect this trend to continue?
