Hey all,
Im setting up my new Plex server, to replace my old one. I got the new one configured last night and tested it out. This morning I enabled remote access for the new server and configured the port forwarding rules so that both servers could be available, and afterwards I noticed my old Plex server is no longer on my Plex home, only the new one. I need the old one to remain up while I move the stuff to the new server, is there a reason why its no longer available to me?
Did you setup the new server from scratch or did you migrate the old one?
If you migrated the old server to create the new one, both will share the same machine identifier and be considered the same.
I ended up disabling the option to make the new server available remotely, and that made the old server available again in Plex.
I’m using port 32401 in the config for the new server, and have the port forwarding configured to listen for that on the WAN and forward to port 32400 on the new servers IP. But as soon as I re-enable the option for the new server to be available remotely the old server is no longer visible in Plex. Not sure what is going on.
