Plex server disappeared and changed to local laptop

Server Version#:
Player Version#:

Hello all. New here. So I have my movies that I’ve been slowly adding to a NUC as my server. I was on my laptop (windows) and opened the Plex app to check that the new movie I just imported to the server was there and correct. While opening, windows popped up with the message do I allow Plex to make changes. Figured it was an update and I allowed it. Well when Plex app opened my server disappeared and it made my local laptop the new server. Anyone experience this? It’s, how do I go back to my actual server?

Your server on another device should still be there even if somehow installed on a different machine. Do you see both servers at https://app.plex.tv/desktop/#!/settings/devices/pms

In settings on the left sidebar the server name is drop down to switch between the different servers settings

Last night I could still access it on my phone. I just checked again and it is not there either. I clicked your link and I can see the server as an authorized device

Have you restarted the server on your NUC ? ( is that running windows as well? )

Not yet. I’ve been working and haven’t had time to mess with it. The server is on a NUC running Ubuntu.

Ok. So. Rebooted my server and while at it I updated it all. Everything works now. I’m thinking back and I didn’t know this could happen but I did unplug my hdmi cable from the NUC (since it’s a headless server anyways) and maybe it caused it it to freeze up.
