Old TV Shows Worked, New TV Shows Aren't

I’ve been able to add TV shows over the course of 2 years with success, however in the past month when trying to add 3 mini-series TV shows (The Pacific, Band of Brothers, The Pillars of the Earth), they do not show up upon file completion.

  1. I’ve followed the mini series naming convention per this article: https://support.plex.tv/articles/naming-and-organizing-your-tv-show-files/

  2. I’ve refreshed metadata and rescanned the library

  3. I’ve tried to see if I have the naming of the TV shows incorrect because I know Plex is particular, but upon looking at TVDB.com, I believe I have them correct.

Like I said, this was working fine a month ago when I added 2 other TV shows (Gunpowder and The Handmaid’s Tale)

Here are the naming conventions I tried each for the various TV shows that haven’t worked recently:
TV Shows/Band of Brothers/Season 01/ Band of Brothers (2001) - s01e01
TV Shows/Band of Brothers (2001)/Season 01/ Band of Brothers (2001) - s01e01
TV Shows/Band of Brothers/Season 01/ Band of Brothers - s01e01

Any help would be appreciated

I had a bit of the same issue, where new shows wouldn’t be added after a Plex media server update. I’m using a synology NAS and I needed to allow the ‘plex user’ to read/write my tv-shows folder. Might have something to do with that?

@pclaesen - I’m also on a Synology NAS. I’ve updated the software to version 4.8.4 (I believe the most current version).

Could you explain/break it down what you did to allow the ‘plex user’ to read/write your TV shows folder?

I’d like to give that a try.
