Synology NAS, Movie database works, TV Shows database does not

Server Version#:DSM 7.1-42661 Update 4
Player Version#: 1.21.0.3744

I know this has probably been posted before, but I cannot find the relevant post.

My Media server is running and I can see the Movies and play them, without any issues, however my TV Shows have never worked properly

When I set up the Plex Server, any tv shows that I had in the folder were displayed, but new ones or alterations do not sync.

Thoughts please and thanks for your time and help.

@bow

Please tell us how you have your media files structured.

They should be of the form:

TOP_LEVEL_FOLDER/
   Series 1/
     Season 1/
        Series 1 - S01Exx - optional title text here.ext
   Series 2/
     Season 4/
        Series 2 - S04Exx - it's episode title if you wish.ext

Either naming or permissions normally. Answer ChuckPa and post your server logs.

I’m going to suggest, at some point here soon, for you to UPGRADE PMS from the Package Center version 1.21.0-3744 (which was only used for the DSM 7 BETA)

It’s VERY out of date in function and completely obsolete in operating on Synology.

I’m sharing this now to you can, when you’re ready, let PMS install and upgrade PMS.(which will take some time to move all your metadata – Do not interrupt it when you do )

It’ll happen when you Manual Install a newer version of PMS.
It will be fully automatic for you. It will sit there “Processing” as it upgrades.
It won’t “hang” so please don’t give up on it.
(Big databases can take a long time to move around)

Hi,

Thanks for all your help.

It was a combination of not upgrading due to DSM 7 and some naming issues.

Thanks for your help and time.
