I had a bit of the same issue, where new shows wouldn’t be added after a Plex media server update. I’m using a synology NAS and I needed to allow the ‘plex user’ to read/write my tv-shows folder. Might have something to do with that?

@pclaesen - I’m also on a Synology NAS. I’ve updated the software to version 4.8.4 (I believe the most current version). Could you explain/break it down what you did to allow the ‘plex user’ to read/write your TV shows folder? I’d like to give that a try.
