Well… I couldn’t resist and ordered the 512mb version. I can’t wait till rasplex is optimized for an already “obsolete” 256mb version, I want it now 
Should get it this week, I’ll keep you informed about how good it will perform! Maybe can do a comparison with both…

First testresults are in!!! Rasplex on a 512mb Pi just is superfast compared to the old 256mb one! Just wow!
Will do more testing this week.

Agreed. I grabbed a 512MB version and had the same experience.
$50AUD now for a 512mb version. That's bloody rediculous! I'll wait for the 256mb to become more stable...

I've just started using RasPlex on my Model B 256mb Pi - Installs fine and finds my Plex Server (700+ videos) but when i go into the Movies section and then All Movies it freezes. I've left it on overnight to do the covers etc. but no change just stuck on the same Movies menu screen in the morning. I've then restarted and starts fine menus are responsive, some covers displayed on the deck but going into Movies-->All Movies freezes the Pi again. I ran a second Plex Server with 1 HD video and it goes through to the movie and cover screen, plays with the occasional stutter every 10 secs. No overclocking set at the moment.

Network type: Wired
you gonna have to overclocked a little bit to get a better performance with the 256mb
Just trying out 1.37. Menus and thumbs are very snappy - nice work on that!
I'm still having issues where I can't play ANY videos.
A couple things happen:
- For some videos, when I hit play the "please wait" appears and I hear a few seconds of audio, but no video. Audio goes away and Plex hangs
- For other videos, I hit play and nothing happens
Is your omxplayer drastically different than the Raspbmc build? My 256mb rPi plays everything flawlessly in Raspbmc.
I am eperiencing exactly the same with my 256MB Model B RPi on 0.137. I cannot play a single video file, always getting message "remote server start failed" or something like that in the end and then plex is no more usable. Today I will try a 512MB RPi.
One more thing:
I noticed in the TV series section, that one time the series theme music was played. Before and after that one time it hasn't been played. I was wondering what is happening when it played. I didn't make any settings regarding this...
With the 512MB version I can finally play movies. All in all it works not bad but there is room for improvement left.
I am using the Android app as a remote. Is there a way to switch languages in the video?
holy sweet mother mary and josep, just upgaded from 256 b model to 512 model, and it works like a charm.
AMAZING speed compared to 256, loaded and cached my entire movie and shows collection in minutes, set force transcode on 4 mbps and it plays all videos with out problem.
With my 256 model i could barely play any videos.... only played cartoons and every thing was so slow, also it was barely able to cache my collections, where the fanart was suppost to be was only a black box.
Now running on 512 model with a 4 gb class 10 sd card, and could not be happier at the moment

Same here. Went to the 512mb and not only can I play videos now, but I played a 22gb 1080p video fine!
