On Deck, Continue Watching & Recently Added

It sorts by the order by which the libraries are pinned. You can rearrange your sidebar to whatever order you prefer. There’s been no need for adding things like spaces for quite some time

So… based on previous efforts to combine things, especially cross server… and my personal physical reaction to it when that first launched it… I am hesitant at best watching this roll in.

I’ll wait, but I am not enthusiastic, especially based on what’s been rolling out for the UI, and lack of care anyone seems to have for feedback there.

Wedge 2020

I think you will like where things are going in 2021. Please don’t take a lack of public facing change to mean a lack of care. Feedback is always looked at, and considered, discussed, and this often leads to changes in designs, which then require more engineering work to do. We don’t have an infinite amount of time, or staff, so sometimes these things take a little while as we consider the feedback, and endeavour to resolve issues.

There’s a thread that’s been rolling since August chock full of feedback for the new direction in UI for the Roku. Almost all of it could have been resolved with a reversion back to work which has already been completed and standing in the app for years. I assume that code is still available?

So far, I have not liked the direction the tail end of 2020 has taken, and experience leads me to believe that 2021 isn’t trending any better.

You assume incorrectly. However, as I said, these things take time to compile, digest, review, design, discuss, and implement. As for not having much hope for 2021, show a little optimism for the future! :plexheart:

Most of our UI changes are in betas or previews before public release. However, as I mentioned earlier:

@DaveBinM I really do not want rehash that roku thread again as this is a different topic but I have to make one comment. Functionality which was available on the roku back pre aug was removed and STILL HAS NOT BEEN RETURNED.

The BS of ‘we are in a development cycle’ and please wait it will get better does not fly with me. Months have passed now so you can see why some of us have lost faith.

Do no harm please!

I’m not sure what you’re trying to get at here?

Let’s try and keep that out of this thread, and in that other one. I can understand why folks may have lost a little faith, but please bear with us :plexheart:

You. If you don’t see the reply symbol, it means the comment is directed at the comment directly preceding it.

Sure. Does the wink mean it’s in the works or that it’s already here and I can’t find it?

This is my Friend’s kid I am talking about.
Plex says; Managed users are only available when signed in with an account in your home.
I am not raising this kid to accomodate the way Plex wants me to use this program.

Well, that wouldn’t have changed our intentions for 2021, but we probably wouldn’t have shared quite as much yet. If anything, it’s really just accelerated we wanted to do :man_shrugging:

We already have a Watchlist for our free Movies & TV content, but not yet for library content

I can echo this… By the time we see changes and are allowed to provide feedback they’re likely too far into the development process and we end up with the changes rolled out to the proper apps anyway regardless of feedback provided. When you ask for patience in such regard, it rings hollow… as we’ve done this many many times before.

Most of the time we are never provided with the “Why” a particular change was made. We’re just asked to accept it and “be patient.”

Haha, not suggesting you raise them! I missed it was your friend’s kid. My bad, it’s getting quite late here!

I always strive to be honest, and follow through on as many things as I can, so I hope my words don’t ring hollow. However, this will be a team effort on our part to start sharing more things earlier on. Let’s look to start 2021 on the right foot :plexheart:

Not sure if this is related or not, But ive noticed that the “Recently Added” section for all media types on the home screen has been limited to just showing 10 items on both Xbox & LG tv. Before I could continuously scroll right through the recently added section to see all items that had been added. Is this feature gone & not coming back? Was really handy having it continuously scroll right through all the items I have added, In case I add something I was meaning to watch, But forget & have to go through my hole library to find it. I know its possible to use Plex Web to scroll continuously & see every item recently added, But it was also nice to have it on the TV & Console app too.

I see 50 Recently Added items on the Web client, Fire Stick, Shield and Roku.
10 On Deck items.

I’ve said it in the past, so I won’t repeat myself too much…
But I really think being more candid with the power users on the forums about what direction Plex wants to go forwards, let us know earlier what’s coming, and thus let us give you guys better feedback early will benefit everyone in the long run.

I’ll ■■■■■ about the lack of ASS/SSA support on Android untill I have it working on a device in my home.
