That’s a known thing. Have been sporadic in replies over the weekend though, so sorry for not addressing it earlier
No worries… Thanks Dave… Good to know it’s known about.
Actually I do have another question, and it is something that a number of people have mentioned, but maybe didn’t ask a specific question…
Is there actually a reason that the sort order of the Home screen hubs has been tied to the sort order of the side bar items?
The only valid reason I can think of, is perhaps it was in some way “easier” for the devs to make it do that at this point, but beyond that, I literally cannot think of any reasonable reason to lock that behaviour.
To many of us, this is now simply a limitation, rather than a feature.
I would certainly like to be able to order my sidebar one way, and my Home screen hubs another, as was always previously possible.
I agree and to add to that, the Home rows are tied to the libraries being pinned. I would rather have control of which library rows are displayed and which contribute to CW independent of them being pinned.
I would like to have Plex Movies & Shows pinned but don’t want it to contribute to the Home screen.
I may want a movie library to contribute to CW but not be pinned.
My request for the order of the hubs on the home page is based on the hubs that me and my users probably use the most. For us, that’s CW/On Deck and Recently Added.
Even with the ability to combine recently added hubs into one, which helps a bit, if you have one hub published to the home page from the manage library controls, it appears between the Recently Added hubs from other libraries. No matter how I arrange the order of the pinned libraries, the published hub, collection, whatever, won’t drop below all of the Recently Added hubs. Try publishing something from several libraries to the home page and Recently Added just turns into a “scroll to find what I really want” project for the user. Not to mention, even if you find a way, it needs to be configured on every app, by every user.
The ability to add the extra hubs to the home page works well, but those hubs (in most cases) should be after the the three main types of hubs (my opinion, of course)
Which is what we had before.
This can work but there needs to be some more control added.
This is basically the same way we had our home screens configured.
The home screen only had Continue Watching, OnDeck, Recently Added TV, and Recently Added Movies. The Recently Added sections pulled from all the unpinned libraries.
Our pinned sidebar had Live TV & DVR, TV, Movies, Playlists, Music, and Plex TV & Movies. Then there were 4-5 other libraries that were unpinned but still showed up in the Recently added sections unless we specifically configured the library to not show on the home screen.
It would be nice if we could get that configuration again. No desire to fill the home page with Live TV & DVR recommendations or Plex TV & Movies recommendations, but I do want quick access to the libraries if I feel the need to browse.
I can’t seem to find that setting? (Windows server.) The closest I see is, under [Server] Settings > Network, “Secure connections” is already set to “Preferred.”
I see there’s now a (buried in server settings) toggle to collapse “Recently Added” feeds for the same library type, which is great. It still doesn’t solve the issue of having to pin EVERYTHING, nor of having to sort the sidebar the same way as the main page. And too bad NO OTHER FEEDS collapse, making them useless in the home screen.
@DaveBinM Any plans to address the HUGE, SERVER-BREAKING bug of no longer being able to access the landing pages of previously unpinned libraries, regardless of whether they’re now pinned or unpinned?
Yes, we will certainly be addressing this
Is it technically possible to put the merge RA thingie in user/client settings instead of server settings?
No, it’s only going to be handled from the server side, I’m afraid
Can you try going to Web → Settings → Debug and select the Restore Defaults button, and see if that fixes it for you?
My bad, that was actually under the Plex Web - General settings, but somehow resolved iOS client access issues too, or that could be a coincidence.
Good to know, I lost access to my Movie library. So after some select cursing and dummy spitting, I rebuilt my Library from scratch. Lost all my lovely sub category Collection posters. So the lesson has been keep a copy of these posters safe.
Then I read a discussion mentioning Restore Defaults found in Web / Debug, will resolve my issue, I nearly through a hissy fit. It was a instant hair loss moment, where is some Xanax. You could say I was totally P… off.
So be warned guys 1.22.3.4392 and lost Libraries, above is the cure.

Update: It has been suggested it’s the Web Version : 4.56.3
It’s not so much to do with the server version, as the version of the web client. It seems that in some cases, some people got into a bad state in the web client (myself included), and when we moved to the new pages in 4.56.3, that bad state caused some breakages. We’re going to try and get to the bottom of it during the week, as I’ve left mine in the bad state for debugging with the web team
Is there a way to find all my custom settings before wiping them? Or do I have to, like, manually screenshot every single settings page so I can restore them.
Sorry Dave, but we seem to have differing ideas about what a feature actually is; for me, On Deck being separate to Continue Watching made it a feature in it’s own right. Merging it into Continue Watching has removed it as a feature in it’s own right; so to me that feature has been removed. Semantics maybe but we’re all different.
On another note, is there any way to pin Plex TV and Movies etc to the side menu but not have them in the Home Screen Hub? I don’t want recommendations (which have no relevance to anything I’m watching or have watched by the way so currently don’t seem to be working) shown but would like them in the side menu for easy access.
No, you can’t have Plex TV and Movies pinned without seeing the hub.
I used to keep it pinned but I don’t use it enough to justify a hub, so I just unpinned it
I agree, with both of you on the merging of OD and CW also. The functionality is the same as Dave pointed out, but I don’t see the large poster at the top of my screen anymore for just the CW
If there was something on the screen I liked and it’s not there anymore a feature has been removed.
The “feature” as Dave describes it is the functionality and as you describe it, it’s the extra row that’s separate.
Yes, maybe a semantical argument but a small detail like that missing makes a difference after you’ve seen it that way for years
It’s only the settings for the web app, so shouldn’t be much other than quality and what libraries you have pinned. It’s not your server settings
