We’ll get that fixed soon
Am I right in saying it’s not possible to automatically create optimized versions for CW in the same way as it was with OD? I certainly can’t find the option. Is there any kind of workaround?
What is this “optimized versions” for On Deck that you speak of?
It was previously possible to configure Plex to create optimized versions of any items that were on deck.
It doesn’t seem to be possible to do this for “continue watching”.
I didn’t know you could fo that with OD. It would bd great if we vould with CW.
Currently I have selected shows setup to Optomize the last 5 unwatched episodes.
Nice. I didn’t know it could previously be done specifically for On Deck. Hopefully this is just more of the half baked nature of this release and they’ll eventually restore the feature to the new Continue Watching hub.
We should be able to do this through CW in the individual libraries.
Not that I can see. The menu options aren’t available.
Not sure if this is covered (couldn’t find in search) but is it possible to merge these from an admin level?
I have managed to find the extremely hidden “merge” button in the library section of my settings and this was great, but now I’m at my partners house on the NVIDIA Shield and the home page is just… a god damn mess.
I want it to go back to the home page being:
- On Deck, Recently Added TV, Recently Added Movies
Rather than:
- On Deck, Recently Added TV, Recently TV Doco, Recently Added TV Animated, Recently Added TV Reality, Recently Added Movies, Recently Added Documentaries, Recently Added Standup, Recently Added Music DVD’s, Recently Added Wrestling TV, Recently Added Wrestling
It sounds like you need to update the shield to the latest version
If it was, you would see the same thing on the Shield as you do your server with everything merged
You might have to do a manual update through the Play store
Keep in mind, On Deck is going to disappear and be replaced with the new combined OD and CW
I go to my TV Shows library, click on Recommended then Continue Watching.
Click on ⋮ then Optimize…
Will this do what you were doing with On Deck?
The option I don’t see when doing it this way is the ability to save in another location. I have to save in the same location as the original file.
“Click on ⋮”
That’s the bit that’s missing. It’s there in recently downloaded and other sections, but not in CW. That whole bar with the sorting and playing options isn’t present in the CW section.
Nope. That just does the episode and not everything that’s in CW. I’ll take screenshots when I’m on a PC.
Not the same thing at all.
Optimize database fixes errors and deletes unneeded database records.
Optimizing Shows & Movies creates a copy in whatever specs you choose.
Ah crap, it’s because I am using the old version packaged with the server, 4.54.x.
You’re using the online version, 4.56.x.
Just tried out the new CW and it’s really a major downgrade for me specifically with it mixing my (few) movies with all my tv shows. Still hoping you give the option to have separate OD and CW.
Anyway, another problem for me is that the new CW shows duplicates of shows in it since those shows are present across Plex libraries that I have. How are you guys managing them?
That is something I hadn’t thought of doing before. Is the the same folder of content scanned into two separate libraries? And if so does Plex keep the watch history separate?
Sorry, I actually meant Plex servers instead of libraries. I have 2 Plex servers, parents & own house, which are located geographically far away from each other. For the media that is present on both servers, they appear twice on the new CW.
Interesting. Have you watched the same show from both servers?
I’ve noticed this also
I have two servers but luckily almost no duplicates
I did recently put a 1080p copy on one sever that I already had a 720p copy of on the other
To summarize, this show is on two different servers, feeding from two different hard drives, and in two different libraries. I put one in a new TV library and one old TV library hoping it would keep them separate.
The odd thing is, that when you’re in the middle of watching the show, two posters show up in the CW.
But when you finish the current episode it reverts back to just having one poster in the CW
If I look under my recently played episodes under the recommended tab in the individual libraries both copies show as played
And the episode counter is counting down in both
I guess my question is for people who share multiple servers with multiple people.
If you share a server with five different people who all happen to have the same show do you now see five copies of that show in the CW? I would have to assume so
Does it now show that you watched 10 episodes even though you only watched 2?
