I’m on iPhone 13 Pro Max, 512GB with plenty of storage (at least 250GB left).
As a user for quite a long time, this is something new that has happened in the past many months. If I am out walking and listening to a playlist on my PlexAmp (from music stored on my Synology NAS) everything plays fine. However, if I happen to “pause” the song for a short time and then resume it, Plex basically crashes on my NAS and goes to Manually stopped state. It also can occur if I skip more than one song at a time. It also can cause Plex to crash on my NAS. My wife also has reported not being able to access her playlist if she’s out walking and skips a couple of songs, or pauses as I describe above.
While she gets frustrated, at least I can attempt to get it playing again. I then have to use QuickConnect to log into my NAS and start Plex again. After doing so, shutting down my iPhone and restarting PlexAmp on my iPhone (making sure the queue is cleared out), then playback resumes as normal.
If I get back home, I can also restart Plex if I didn’t do so before I got home.
This must be a bug in Plex because it never happened. It seems like it had to do with splitting Music and Photos from the main Plex app (which now only has movies).
This is a real drag for people like me who spent a lot of time and money getting things set up and working. These things should not happen and when they are reported, they need to be addressed and fixed ASAP.
I have attached the Plex logs.
