On screen menu will not go away!

Server Version#: Version 1.21.0.3616
Player Version#: Version 4.43.4

On the bottom of my LG TV the menu will not go away while watching my videos. I constantly have to see on the top (title) and bottom (navigation options) throughout the whole show/movie. This just started yesterday after using the program for years.

A quick note - the issue didn’t stop after I updated the software today.

In the Plex TV app settings /Advanced there is a reset, I would be trying.

No joy, still won’t disappear. Also, the Plex screensaver is not coming on.

Have you power cycled the TV from power source. Failing that it looking more like you need to Uninstall and start again.

What model LG TV

I have powered up the LG, it just seems strange that it just started happening yesterday after years with the same TV. I checked my newer LG and it works fine, just the older one that is acting up.

How old is your other LG. As plex don’t support LG HD TV any more. Have opted in for WebOS preview, it might be best to opt out.

My older one is probably 6 or 7 years old. I just don’t understand, it worked fine up until yesterday and I didn’t install the update until today.

Oh, that a early LG smart. I had one of those back a few years ago.

You definitely need to opt out. Go to app avatar top left and opt out.

If you have a lot of apps installed it’s best to thin them out and remove the stored recent in bottom tiles left. Those early models struggled with available RAM and processors were barely appropriate.

I appreciate the advice. I don’t have or use any other apps on the TV, I checked to see if I installed any others, and I haven’t. It would be a shame/pain if I can’t find a resolution, it’s my largest TV…:crossed_fingers:

Well it’s an older TV but a second hand Roku would solve the problem and vastly improve the use of PLEX. Amazon or Ebay, don’t recommend the Roku stick.

Update: there are plenty Roku 4K units for $20 on ebay, this will give you many more years on the older LG

Hey SE56,

I did a reset on my LG (Model 50LB6100) and that seems to have corrected the problem! Sometime these darn devices need a reboot.

Ok, as suggested in my first reply, good news
