Saved.
Perfect! Let me know if you need anything else and I’ll get it over to you ASAP.
Just letting you know your XML file is quite helpful. I was able to just use it for my guide and can now see a different order in in the web client vs on the Roku preview app which will make fixing it much easier. Thanks!
YES!!! No problem!
I’ve found the issue. We should have an update with the fix in Preview by Monday.
We’re also looking at how to best integrate the channel number into the new design, so hopefully something should be coming for that soon.
Sounds good. Thank you!
@ruuk Guide data is now in order. Haven’t ran into any problems so far…
@ruuk I have another XMLTV file that consists of only dummy entries from xTeVe. On this one when you select Live TV & DVR the guide entries will be empty at first. When this happens you cant scroll down or select anything. Then when you press the back button (not dpad left) to go back to the side menu the guide entries will show up. I can then go back over to the guide and scroll/select my channel.

As for the fix from yesterday… everything seems to be working good. After playing for a while the guide tends to slow down/lag but rebooting plex seems to fix this. I’m not sure if it’s because the Roku is getting hot or something else yet.
I tried out your XML and was able to reproduce what you mentioned. The behavior is the same in the official version so it looks like it wasn’t introduced in the Preview.
I don’t really know exactly what the XML file you sent me represents though. You mentioned it’s ‘dummy entries’. Does this represent a real use scenario, and how do you get this sort of XML?
It’s real use. This file was produced by xTeVe as dummy entries. For the channel to show up in plex it needs guide data and if there is none avail then a dummy entry must be set in xTeVe in order to produce it. I’m using it as sort of a tuner experiment where a user will select the channel and it will start streaming specific shows 24/7.
You’re right, it’s the same in the official version. It’s been like this for a while but I figured since we are on guide fixes I would mention it…
There is also another guy that posted about it a while ago here: [Bug] Guide is blank on Roku until pressing back button

Good to know I’m not the only one seeing this! I’ve experienced this issue for as long as I’ve used Live TV & DVR on Plex for Roku (I’m not using the Preview). Is there any possibility of fixing this now that it can be repro’d with @kegbeach’s file?
My use case is admittedly unusual. I’m using twitch2tuner (disclaimer, my own project) to watch Twitch on Plex/Roku. As long as I’m generating a standard EPG, I would expect it to work.
Dummy entries work on plex web and Plex for Android/Firestick as-is.
@kegbeach: Thanks for the info. I’ll file an issue for it.
@micahmo : Thanks for the link to your project. It think it might be useful to me personally, aside from the fact that is sounds like I should be able to use that to generate current guide data that exhibits the issue.
I’d be happy with a config item to show either channel number or logo if that makes the fix/update easier. Honestly I’m totally fine with the overall look of the non-preview production app for live tv and the left menu text size.
@ruuk @ljunkie Got the new update. Thanks for putting channel numbers on focused channels and thanks for fixing the unusual guide issue I had mentioned. This is perfect!
Yes! thank you for being responsive. Much appreciated!
Any chance to get the text font a little larger? The menu on the left and the new text for the channel is a little hard to read on my 1080p 55 inch.
Thanks again!

This thread was for the Plex Preview app which is the Roku app and has already been FIXED. 8.19.3 is the Android app. Might want to make a new thread and complain to the Plex gods working on Android…

I guess it would help if I could read!
I was searching the forums for the Andorid specific issue, saw this thread and just assumed… I will take the issue elsewhere. ![]()
