A friend of mine let me host a bunch of my home videos on their server. They gave me access to their plex account, and network access to the folder the videos are in on my windows PC, so I can add more files and edit metadata for them etc. The reason I’m mentioning this is because I have no idea of any details of their server setup (or anything about servers really, they just gave me access as a favour really), other than it runs on Linux.
Anyway, I made a library for my videos, tested out adding some more to the folder from my home PC, everything seemed to work fine. But today I added some more, and they’re not appearing in Plex, even if I do a manual scan. They’re named in the same way as all the other files.
I also have network access to the folders containing my friend’s own libraries, so I added a file into one of those and it appeared in Plex straight away, so it seems to only be a problem with the one library.
Additional problem that I’ll add here - I have some plugins set up to export metadata and posters of my videos to the root folder. They work fine on my personal account with the PMS installed on my PC, but don’t do anything on my friends account. I don’t think they’ve worked ever since I set it up. Not sure if this issue is related regarding some communication issue with this Plex library and the server.
Sorry if anything isn’t clear, I can do my best to clarify if needed. Any advice would be appreciated.
