Online offline joke is absolutely bs

Seriously wtf. You Pay for a plex pass then you have to try and work out which content you want to see. Then when your downloaded movies don’t show on your iPad so you flip between offline browsing abd then logging on until you find the solution is an absolute joke. Sort this ■■■■ out.

Please tune it down a notch.

As for offline content… your offline content will be showing right in your regular library and you should be able to filter for synced/downloaded videos.

  • Synced/downloaded movies will show a little circle with a downward pointing arrow in their top-left corner.
  • In the filter selection you can limit your view to unwatched or only-synchronized movies (beyond the regular filters)

The offline view is just another layer of how to access those things (in particular when you’re really offline) – however there’s absolutely no need to actually switch between online/offline modes.

Agreed about toning it down

I have noticed something odd about the offline view, though. It doesn’t seem to respect the toggle when you leave the app and come back. I’m on iPhone, but I assume iPad has same problem.

I’ll be in offline browsing mode, seeing only the downloaded items. No special filters or anything turned on. Then I watch something and whatever happens where I switch apps. Like a message arrives or a phone call.

When I go back to Plex, the red banner at the top says that it’s in Offline Browsing mode, but I see all of the server’s media. If I go to toggle the offline setting, it’s still marked as on. Switching it off does nothing; I have to toggle it off and then back on to switch back to my old view.

I can provide a screenshot chain if that’s hard to follow.

I can reproduce this – however it only shows when iOS is actually restarting the Plex client. If I just switch apps and my iPad still keeps the apps in memory/active, the restriction remains active.
Let me double-check if this is a known issue.

This is tagged Server-Windows and Server-MAC. Which one is the issue or are you running two servers?

Sync is still a buggy mess, but Plex has said they are getting back to making the basics work better. If the work they are doing on Plex Music is any indication of their seriousness then I am very confident that sync will work A LOT better in the months to come. I know this isn’t a good answer, but for what it is worth I think they will turn this SYNCing ship around.

Sorry only windows

Looks that this issue is already reported in the iOS forum like it should be:
