Only have ‘indirect connection’ to my plex server on my local network

I have installed PLEX server on my PC with Windows 10 64 bit… All the clients within the same network (including my ipad, iphone and amazon fire stick) is unable to establish a direct connection to my server.

I have googled and tried many methods to resolve the issue to no avail.

Can some one kindly advise me on this? I am very new to Plex and network trouble shooting. Thank you for your time.

DISable:
Settings - Server - Network - ‘Show Advanced’ - " Enable server support for IPv6"

Go into the Network and Internet properties of Windows.
Verify that the network connection is classified as ‘private’ and not as ‘public’.
Change, if necessary https://tinkertry.com/how-to-change-windows-10-network-type-from-public-to-private

Afterwards, restart Plex server or reboot Windows

Thanks OttoKerner for your reply.

My network had already been set to private before and i have enabled IPv6, but Plex is still unable establish direct connection in my local network.

Any other possibilities?

He asked you to disable it

And adding to self, since not in the article @OttoKerner referenced, AFAICT

Make sure, your local IP range are a private IP range

Thanks dane22, if that’s the case, that was my original settings i.e. IPv6 turned off.

Private IP = Static IP?

My current IP is 192.168.1.XX

Do you have anything written into the various other input fields under
Settings - Server - Network - ‘Show Advanced’ ?
Particularly is ‘Treat WAN IP As LAN Bandwidth’ activated
and do you have anything in ‘LAN Networks’?
Please list those verbatim.

When I go to Settings - Server - Network - ‘Show Advanced’ , I do not see the option ‘Treat WAN IP As LAN Bandwidth’ on my Plex.

This is all i see:

What kind of router do you have in your network?

Is remote access possible from outside your home network?

What happens if you disable ‘Secure Connections’ under
Settings - Server - Network
(restart Plex server after making the change)

I am using RT-AC87U as my router.

I am unable to activate the remote access from outside my home network too. After investigating this, i note that there is a double NAT issue due to my ISP running on CGNAT.

May i check if this is also the root cause of not able to establish direct connection within my own network?

I have tried to disable ‘Secure Connections’ but upon doing so my client devices are unable to detect the server.

Thanks.

I took a look into the manual of this router.

page 58 ‘Set AP isolated’ must be OFF
page 65 ‘Connect to DNS Server automatically’ set this to ‘No’, then put the IP 8.8.8.8 as the DNS server

afterwards, reboot your router first,
then wait a few minutes, reboot your plex server
wait again a few minutes, then restart your plex clients

Thanks Otto for your reply. These settings have already been made previously but the plex client is still unable to make direct connections.

Any other possible reasons?
