So what ive tried to do is create my own Optimized Version of 4k movies. I find it far fast and easier to just download the version and drop it into the folder structure created by plex. But when i go the my optimized versions in the settings it doesnt show any optimized versions. I hunch this is because Plex didnt do the transcode. Is there a way to trick the server into recognizing these files and optimized versions so that it will auto call it up when some outside of my network tries to watch something?
I don’t think there’s any reasonable way to force your own content into Plex’s “Optimized Versions” structure.
