Hello,
i’ve just bought a new samsung tv. my previous tv was still samsung but i’m using Orca’s app.
I’ve a file with this resolution (3840x1608) and when i play the file i see the black bar on top and bottom. In the Orca’s app there’s an option to force the play in 16:9 so the black bar is disappearing. I’ve not find any option in the new app to force it to 16:9. Can you help me? I know that this option deform the image but I prefer a deformed image rather than seeing black bars
-
get used it
-
turn down the room lights so the black bars disappear
-
watch the content, not the bars
-
use the TV (not the app) to Murder the Aspect Ratio - there’s a zoom setting… maybe
-
drag Plex Media Player to the TV - bypassing whatever Plex App in on that thing - PMP can Murder the aspect ratio - hit the video settings in “TV View” mode.
---------but wait:
Google - go figure:
I assume that’ll work on just about anything - with some variation - if not, explore Google armed with your model number for more precise instructions… If we’re lucky, you can set that thing to never show you another Black Bar for as long as it lives across every input or mode and wouldn’t that be great (for you)?
I can’t modify the picture size from the tv settings because it’s not permitted using the plex app.
I don’t understand the point 5. You intend that i have to navigate with the browser to my server and start the movie frome there?
With the orca’s app i can change the resolution. why not let the user decide what to do?
Open Plex App
Start Movie/Show with Offending Black Bars
Pick up the TV Remote
Adjust Zoom - according to the instructions for TV Zoom Adjustment.
If that’s really impossible - I guess the Smart TV has us outsmarted. You’ll need to employ 1, 2, 3 or 5.
