Option to manually 'hide' Playback Bar in the Plex Media Player (Locally)

Hello Everyone,

Problem:
I ran into this Problem while using Plex Media Player on Windows, locally (not in Web Browser). Mostly when I watch something and I place my Cursor/Mouse/Pointer on the Windows Taskbar the Playback Bar (Top/Bottom) of the Plex Media Player won’t hide. The Problem I have then is that I can’t read the Subtitles which are displayed right behind said Playback Bar and that it cuts a bit of the Image. Sometimes I try to click something in the Playback Bar and put the Cursor/Mouse/Pointer outside of the Plex Media Player again or just place it on the Windows Taskbar again to “force” the Playback Bar to hide (that it recognizes that I don’t need the Playback Bar anymore). Sadly it won’t work most of the times and I’ll always have to try it a lot of times until it really goes away(hides).

Note:
Strangely it works perfectly on my Mac (also with the Plex Media Player, locally) where it hides the Playback Bar instantly as soon as I put my Cursor/Mouse/Pointer outside of the Plex Media Player.

Possible Solution:
I thought a little additional “Hide”-Button would be useful in those Cases. So if it won’t work automatically you can just click the “Hide”-Button.

Examples of possible Solution:
Heres a little Illustration - the Button circled in red at the bottom (on the right Side):

If needed, one could also add the Option to add the “Show”-Button to display the Playback Bar manually, which I Illustrated in the following Picture - the Button circled in red at the bottom (on the right Side):

End:
Thanks for your Consideration.
Let me know if any other Users would find this Button useful or not.

Happy X-Mas to Everyone!

Kind Regards,

mmaeder

Ok, you are talking about PMP used in the Web App View instead of the Full Screen. Solution just don’t move the mouse over the area of the playback bar, just move it to the right side of your screen…

No. I’m talking about the PMP Application you can download for Windows locally. “I ran into this Problem while using Plex Media Player on Windows, locally (not in Web Browser).
Could be a solution if it worked every time - but it doesn’t. That’s why I made this “request”. But it’s okay if it isn’t necessary to implement such an option.

I’d actually extend this to say that moving your mouse away from PMP in a multi monitor setup where the mouse can escape to the sides or through the top/bottom often tends to leave the payback bar up as well. This is really annoying when trying to watch the video on one screen while doing something on another screen.
