This is a request to allow us to choose to display Specials AFTER Seasons in Series. Reason being, if you click a Series and press “play” you will always play Specials before Season 1 episode 1. So if say the 1st special is the Movie for a series that took place after the show, it’ll still play 1st before S01E01 since the Specials are S00. Oddly this seems to be confusing for my users, I’ve had a few family members attempt to play a show and the specials roll before the 1st episode.
Asking as an additional option, not to change the default for everyone, just to let us choose to display the seasons before specials when it comes to series. Maybe if it’s even just a backend trick like if plex sees S999E01 it knows that’s a special that should be shown AFTER the seasons.
When you hit Play on a show, it will play the episodes in the order they are listed as having aired. If you have a special that wasn’t matched or the aired date is missing, that uses the default date of 1/1/1900 so this will play first. Change the date and it will play in the correct order.
Beyond MovieFan.Plex’ point… there’s already an existing feature suggestion asking for specials to be listed after the regular seasons (independent of the playback order). I suggest you comment/vote in that thread in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes.
