Currently posters, especially for the web client, are very severely compressed. I understand the reasoning behind this, and it’s very impressive that they look as good as they do considering they are often 5-7kb, but I have a very fast connection and am most often browsing locally on the computer running the server so I would love an option to turn up the jpeg quality from the server.
Exactly what i was thinking about last week when i was scrolling through my media.
On a 65 inch TV, when you bring up a movie, the poster looks so soft and pixelated at that size. It is almost two feet tall and I think my locally saved images are around 400x720 (by memory). On a 4K TV it stands out for the poor quality.
A little thing, but I’d love to see the option to use higher res posters.
I have a mate running at 75" 4K with plex and I know he would like more tiles on the screen and higher resolution images in plex.
