I love the idea of the movie-trailers playing before the selected movie…but the online-sourced trailers are simply underwhelming. For the true theater-experience, the trailers need to be of the same (or higher) quality as the movie being played. The uber-compressed, stereo-audio trailers just don’t come close to matching my local media…and tend to detract from the experience rather than add to it.
High-quality (even lossless) trailers are not difficult to acquire legally online. I would very much like the option to forego the online-sourced trailers and instead utilize trailers stored locally on my server…which will give me more control over the selection and quality of the trailers served to my users.
