Organize "Play Version..." movies by default

Hi everyone

Since few days I am adding HDR movies to my collection and I want to keep the version without HDR with the new HDR version, so 2 versions of 1 movie.
For exemple:
Folder:
Olympus is Falling (2013)
Files:
Olympus is Falling (2013).mkv
Olympus is Falling (2013) HDR.mkv

Thanks to the “Play Version…” option my clients can choose wich version they want to play depending if their hardware can support HDR or not.

What I want to acheive, is that by default, the movie that will start when directly play will be the no HDR one (because most of my clients don’t have HDR support) and for those who can read the HDR format, they have to go to the “Play Version…” option and choose the HDR one.

I thought that Plex Media Server would choose by alphabtec order the one that would play first by default, but it’s not working like this.

Can someone help me here?

Thank you very much!

This is a nice idea, but at the moment the “Play Version” menu doesn’t display anything more than the (1) bit rate and (2) resolution of the merged files. I’d say that your request would be step 2. Step 1 would be to allow us to provide (3) custom information somewhere that’ll appear in that menu. Even simply appending file name, as a global option, would be an improvement for differentiating .

There is already a feature request of that, More Info in "Play Version". Please add your vote.
