Server Version#: 1.23.1.4602
Player Version#: 4.58.1
Hi,
I am trying to restore my home screen that got weird after an update some long time ago. I’ve tried the guide at Manage Recommendations | Plex Support but there is something missing.
According to the instructions when I click Manage recommendations
I should see some options. Instead I get a blank nothing
.
I have tried with two browsers (Edge and chrome, and yes I know they are basically the same ) on two different computers (my server machine and also my HTPC machine. No add-ins used.
As I mentioned, feels like something broke in an update. So maybe I should just uninstall and reinstall. So scared my DB will go bye-bye though. Many hours of work is put into it.
Is 1.23.1.4602 the highest server software version you have tried, or did you have an even newer beta version installed at some time?
Because if you had a newer version installed, you could have been bitten by the bug described in here Notice: Users running the Windows version of Plex Media Server
Sorry for my absence. But I have figured out where the problem lies. First of all I discovered a second issue, When I made a search I only searched me friends servers, not mine.
So I uninstalled the Plex server, rebooted the computer and reinstalled plex. I rescanned my movie folder. Now all behaved as expected. So I switched the new DB with my old DB and restarted the plex server, all old problems returned, I couldn’t change me homepage nor search my own movies. I then switched back to new DB and it all worked as expected again.
I tried to repair the old DB from instructions on your pages. But it made no difference.
Is there any chance I can get help to try and repair it?
Problem is, I’m not sure I follow them correctly. And I’ve spent hundreds of hours correcting and fixing with my old DB. So are you sure you can’t do a quick try to see if your skills are any better than mine (which they absolutely are)? Pleeeeaaaase? With sugar on top!
