Hello, all,
Been using and enjoying Plex but I have these two minor issues that I’m running into that I cannot figure out on my own so I figured I’d hit up the community to see if I can get more assistance.
1) I’d like to better organize my folder structures for movies, TV shows, music and eventually down the road photos. The way I currently have my structure now on my Windows 10 machine sitting on one 8TB RED NAS drive are my movie backups in alphabetical order in their own folder (going from folders # to Z and all other movies in each of those folders in that main folder). So for example if I go to my Win 10 drive and look for just Quantum of Solace I’d go to 8TB > Q > Quantum of Solace > Quantum of Solice.mkv > play.
How I currently have it on my Plex is by adding a library and doing it as follows:
#-Movies
A-Movies
and so on so forth until Z. You get the idea. So basically what I’m wondering is how can I do this similar file structure in my Plex library? Basically I’d like to be able to see it like this:
Movies > folders #-Z > choose Q folder > Quantum of Solace > Quantum of Solace.mkv > play.
This way I wont have to have 4 separate #-Z spanning 27 folders each (4x27 = 108 libraries lol – would look pretty clunky). If I could somehow just create:
Movies > #-Z
TV Shows #-Z
Music > #-Z
Photos > #-Z
Instead of:
#-Movies
A-Movies
#-TV Shows
A-TV Shows
So on and so forth. If possible or any suggestions let me know!
2) I backed up whatever CDs I had laying around and did it through Windows Media Player in I believe Flac lossless format because it was a recommended format over mp3 backups. However, I can play them on my Plex on PC but I cant play any of those music files or folders on my mobile devices. I keep getting the message “an error has occurred” every time no matter the device. I’ve tested this on my Galaxy Note 10+, Galaxy S8+. first gen iPad Air, one of my Samsung tablets, on an iPhone 7 and so on so forth. Each the same result with the odd error cannot play and just keeps going to next song and same error over and over. I haven’t tested just ripping them into mp3 and testing it from there but I want to figure out why these wont play when they play fine on Win 10 on PC and on Plex when I just play it through it on PC. Any suggestions let me know!
