OTA Live TV has never worked on the new mobile app for me. There are many threads on it and Plex seems to be silent on it. Please update us on what you need to troubleshoot/fix this problem from your community or tell us something.

Please acknowledge and comment on this, even if it’s just a “ya, we need to figure out how to add mpeg2ts codec” or “We have no clue.”
Only looking at your logs it seems like the app is not able to connect to your server address.
What is your network setup for your server? (if it isn’t the default)
Same result when “Secure Connections” is set to required or preferred. Also should note that Preview Experience tvOS 2025.17.0 live tv works, but transcodes.
TY for checking that.
I’ll see if I can replicate the exact issue that is shown in that error and your logs.
If there are any other settings that are not default, let me know and I’ll configure my server exactly the same to test
Nothing different than what I posted. When I revert back to 8.45 on the ipad there is no issue playing live tv, and I am able to stream media while using 2025.17 or 18.0 the only issue is live tv.
Understood.
The players we are using are different between applications but there shouldn’t be a difference in how the devices can access the server.
It’s a DNS issue, I just remembered that I had set my Apple TV to 1.1.1.1 bypassing the pihole. I just did the same on my ipad and it is now streaming transcoded.
What do I need to whitelist to fix this? I’m not seeing any blocked addresses when looking at pihole and triggering live tv. Problem is present even when I disable blocking in the pihole, and only goes away when I switch the DNS server.
I know just enough Unix to be dangerous. If you send explicit instructions on how to change the DNS setting I’ll give it a try. Happy to help with troubleshooting.
No unix needed. On your iOS device, go to Settings > Wifi > Click the blue i next to your wifi ssid and scroll down to configure dns click manual and make it look like this.
Then back out, relaunch Plex and check live TV. If you want to change it back again, you can just click automatic and it will go back to your previous settings.
Manually setting the DNS servers as you described above solved one problem. When connected to wifi at home on the same network as the Plex Server, I no longer get the Network error message. Most channels play normally (audio and video). However, a few channels (I think maybe just the HD shows) just display a black screen, even after waiting for more than a minute. I CAN play the same channels if I connect via cellular, although those channels take about 25 seconds to start playing. Let me know if there are other settings I can play with to help ID this second issue. and THANKS!!!
Talking with another team member this seems like it could be around DNS rebinding protection.
We do workarounds for this everywhere except Live TV right now.
You may be able to whitelist plex.direct and have a workaround for now.
Otherwise I’ll be looking at this soon because I know not everyone has the same control over their network.
Any upcoming fixes for not being able to see anything in the guide in the future? For example, I select Thursday (24 hours from now), and it just sits and spins with no data.
