Server Version#: was 1.18.5 now 1.18.6
Player Version#:
Installed 1.18.5… Friday, worked fine. Purchased plex pass today.
Still no remote access, comes on for a few seconds then goes back off.
Upgraded to version 1.18.6 while trying to troubleshoot problem. Verified port settings and all lan was what it should be. It’s been hours… since I subscribed. When do I get what I paid for, remote access???
Is remote access not working properly for you when you try to connect from a client outside your home network or is it maybe only the remote access status indicator that is off?
Have you already looked into this support article?
Just to avoid a major confusion… you don’t need to have a Plex Pass in order to use remote access… there’s a list of features requiring a plex pass:
only works on local lan. states offline from a remote site. picture eerily similar to actual just numbers changed to what actual is. Tried all tips in article, no difference, someone said try going back to 1.18.0 to get it working, but see nowhere to download prior versions anywhere on website.
how are you trying to connect to it remotely?
same way I did over weekend …cellphone.
what error message are you getting on the cell phone?
checked already, Is good port access.
server offline in android plex app. only shows movies from plex tab available.
deleting app from phone and grabbing new copy from appstore.
its just weird connected fine, played fine until I purchased plex pass.
no change still won’t connect, says OFFLINE in big red box.
On the 7 of feb, plex.tv has a major issue with it’s authentication service.
As such, some PMS Servers has to be restarted, and after that, you need to browse towards it from local net in order to reclaim it
didn’t change anything, still same issue. have video if I can figure out how to post.
I would like PMS logs in a zip instead
I completely deleted and re-installed earlier, still wont connect remotely. local lan only.
not sure what /how to get logs. point me to them would be happy to zip.
okay here is logs.Plex Media Server Logs_2020-02-10_16-54-25.zip (1.7 MB)
First of all, your PMS Server is both connected to the LAN, as well as wireless.
That’s bad!

Secondly, you might be faced with a Double NAT, that once more, is bad!
Ref:
Feb 10, 2020 16:53:03.601 [13708] ERROR - MyPlex: mapping failed due to potential double NAT configuration
And lastly, and most important, you have either a slow DNS or a bad DNS
Ref:
Feb 10, 2020 16:53:04.176 [10984] ERROR - Error issuing curl_easy_perform(handle): 28
So all in all…
Disable Wireless, and temporary, switch DNS to Google (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4)
Then restart PMS, and try again
repaired first bad. second bad, how to fix double NAT? working on third bad now.
