Parental Controls

How do I set up parental controls using Plex Pass to restrict another user who has their own account and was invited as a friend. I wanted to restrict the content from a shared media server on my account for this other account user. I believe I read in the forum here that I cannot use a managed user to do so. It seems that the problem may revolve around trying to restrict a shared library from another Plex account in my Plex Home. Thank you for any help you can give, Shawn

Using this requires Plex Pass.

If you don’t have a Plex Pass, you can only restrict a shared user’s access per-library.

You can use the PlexHome feature managed user but strongly advised not to do so cause PlexHome is really designed for use in your house. Again, this is a no-no.

Restricting shares starts with you creating folders based on who will have access to them. An example is two libraries.
1st) KidMovies that points to the folder D:\PlexMedia\Kid Movies
2nd) Movies that points to D:\PlexMedia\Movies
You would of course give access to KidMovies to the kids and all the adults would have access to both libraries.
This IMO is the best way for many reasons, one being you do not have to make any edits within PMS(using labels and such) and secondly and maybe more importantly you do not have to worry about the rating(R, PG-13, etc…) It can bite you in the butt !!
