Got to say I just started using Plex and find it to be a well thought out piece of software. I am going to sign up for a plex pass ASAP. Just one thing I would like to see is password protection on the sync feature. So my friend's can stream my movie's to their device but not download them with out permission. Thanks for your hard work it is much appreciated.

This is already implemented.
Each of your friends need their own account on plex.tv
When you create the sharing with their account, you can choose which libraries they can see and if sync is allowed (separate checkbox).
That way you can decide, who is allowed to sync and who not. You can change this setting at any time later.
