Password reset & force logout - now PMS won't start on ShieldTV

Server Version#: 1.22.0.4163-d8c4875dd

Original 2015 NVIDIA ShieldTV (non-pro)

As topic says, I reset my Plex password via the web after getting notice of a suspicious login. I chose to log everyone out.
I proceeded to then turn on my Shield to log back in with the new pw, which went fine, but the Server will not start up again, no matter what I do. I’ve cleared PMS app cache, rebooted the Shield several times, etc, and nothing works. (ShieldTV is fully up to date).
I made no changes besides the pw and force logout. I’ve found some similar topics on this, so I know I’m not alone, but I’ve found no clear resolution. Everything had worked fine for the past 2 years, and I’m not sure where the hiccup is with this reset.

Is there anything I can do without wiping out my existing server and starting over?

I take it you were connecting directly to the Plex Media Server running on your Shield in order to re-link it with your account (http://[Shield IP address]:32400/web). When logging everyone out from your account, that does not only impact the client apps but also your server. Therefore you won’t see it in the clients linked to your account until the server has also been re-claimed.

I’ve tried that method - I get no response (“This site can’t be reached”) from the web approach, either direct IP address or localhost link. (I did verify IP address of shield on my router). Both my PC I’m attempting from, and Shield are connected via ethernet, too.

Plex web app (and all other client apps) keep looking for my server by name, but it finds nothing.

The Plex app on the Shield has a settings icon to toggle PMS on/off. It showed ‘off’ after the PW reset, but when I click to turn it “on” it sits for 10 seconds before going back to the menu where it still says PMS is off. So I’m fairly certain it’s just not running at all, and I can’t get it to start.

This method worked for me, after a pw reset and log out of all users. Thank you.
