Password reset locked server

Reset plex account password today due to receiving a notice of someone possibly having my details and i also selected the kick everyone off with reset box. Doing so dropped access to the server and when i went to reclaim it there was no option to and i was told i had no permission to the server. I have tried various fixes from registry edits, reinstalling plex, force claiming via command line, and even attempting to remove from authorized devices to try and re-add, ( which has simply completely vanished the server visibility wise). Nothing seems to work. Im just shy of pulling the physical storage and installing on a different device. Any advice would be appreciated.

Follow the links inside.

Ive already tried those, it didnt work, primarily because the server doesn’t pull new data like its supposed to, ie the registry doesnt update afterwards to pull the new credentials.

Switch to using Google DNS 8.8.8.8 instead of your ISP’s.
Make sure you use a standard web browser, without any add-ins.

Ill give that a shot once i get back fom grabbing a bite to eat. The clean browser is also a good point, my usual browsers have adblockers, darkmode, etc. on them. Fingers crossed.

That hasn’t fixed it either, is the some script or prompt to force a registry key update or something? Realistically its pretty ridiculous that updating an account password can effectively brick the account

Is this running on a Windows Server Edition?
Did you set the DNS to 8.8.8.8 ?

Yes, latest windows server edition available.

I got it working again with the nuclear option (full registry deletion, full appdata deletion, complete uninstall and reinstall of the application) starting from scratch which i was hoping to avoid due to having to re-coordinate invites, but thats better than the alternative i suppose

Actually there would have been a fix Plex install fix for Windows Server (Claim issue)

That looks like essentially the same fix steps as the original recommendation you posted which was one of the several steps i had already tried before posting on here.
