@Moussa This isn’t listed as a known issue, but since going to version 2.1.2.70 the pause button on my remote doesn’t work while watching a video. This is different from the issue in 2.1.1.
The Play button performs the play/pause function; but it is frustrating not being able to use the Pause button or explaining to others that the Pause button doesn’t pause, and they need to use the Play button instead.
This behaviour occurs on my Xbox One X and Xbox One S.
I personally don’t think it is a plex issue. I believe the issue to be a change in how the Xbox handles the pause function now. I have a kinect and use it daily for the voice commands. I also use my harmony remote for plex and netflix on my xbox. Both the “xbox pause” and the pause button on my remote stopped working at the same time. I have to press play to pause and resume and if I use the voice commands, saying “xbox play” while a video is playing pauses the video. Then I say “xbox play” again to resume it, similar to how the remote functions.
It seems that at some point Microsoft updated the consoles to change the behavior of the pause/play options. When I recently went through my harmony remote reconfiguration of the buttons, I changed my pause button to a pause/play toggle button and now I can ‘pause’ from my remote, although I can still press play to accomplish the same thing. This just made it easier for the in-laws to figure out.
I really hope Microsoft fixes this issue but I am highly doubtful since they discontinued the kinect so voice commands are likely not a priority for them.

Dang it, I hope that’s not the case. So in Netflix you have the same issue? I’ll have to do the same thing you did and reprogram all my harmony remotes if there’s little hope for a fix.
My remote still pauses when using the Xbox Media Player and pressing Pause.
It would also be an amazing coincidence that this change happened immediately after I updated the Plex app, and moments before updating the Pause button worked in Plex.
@Moussa This is much better thanks, but (and maybe I’m being picky) while the pause button now works for pausing, it doesn’t work for unpausing - for that you need to use the Play button still.
I guess the current functionality kind of makes sense, but in most apps and players the pause button can also be used to unpause and (I think) that’s how it used to work in Plex too.
This isn’t a huge issue, but would be nice to have (and this is certainly better than it was).
Just an FYI for anybody else that still can’t get the play/pause thing to work after the latest update, I had to hard re-set the Xbox in order to get it to work now. But the pause button does now work both in the voice commands and my harmony remote, so neat!
