I have been unable to fast forward after pausing live tv on any channel. Example is to pause for a min or two and then watch the news. Then fast forward during a commercial to get back to realtime as much as possible. But when I fast forward it jumps back to the beginning of the stream and I can’t fast forward or it then go backwards. The only way to recover is to switch to another channel and then back. I’m using this on Apple TV but I have also had issue on Roku. This seems more of a plex server issue.
Hi @Murdoc177 This is an ongoing problem and has been reported for over a year - plex team does not respond to these posts unfortunately and it appears they refuse to fix or even address this issue regardless of how much data or help you offer to the team. It is SUPER annoying, it is EASILY reproduced, it is across every client I have tested (indicating server side like you said), and has yet to be resolved. All previous reports die on the vine due to non response over 90 days. I have stopped recommending plex to friends and coworkers due to this very problem and total lack of response and disregard for the users of this feature. I’d love for it to be resolved since it is a primary feature that I purchased plex for and it used to work! Good luck!
Last night I was watching SNL while recording it. Playback is fine if you just NEVER try to FF or Rew even for a second. Don’t try to pause and FF during a commercial break - it’s like we’re back in the 80’s again.
Within the last 5 minutes I did try to Rewind a minute or so and it jumped back about 45 minutes. It’s just random.
I waited until the recording concluded and the show appeared in my Shows tab and then everything worked fine again.
I wonder if there is an ini file that helps control the dvr features. I thought I saw something about an ini file controlling the delete commercials. I just wonder if we can crowd source the fix.
