Paw Patrol - Episodes Out Of Order

I have been banging my head and researching and still having issues.

I built the epguide off of this site
http://thetvdb.com/?tab=season&seriesid=272472&seasonid=527372&lid=7

I split each episode into 11 min eps (approx) as there are 2 short episodes in 1 22 minute episode; so this is not the issue.

in season 2, all the episodes are in correct order with the exception of episode 49… it starts out like this
s01e01 through s01e43 ; then it goes s01e49 and then go s01e44 through to s01e48

The first thing you have resign yourself to is:
The order at TVDB is the order even if you know it’s not the order and can prove it.
I’ll let that sink in for a while… there we go.

If by some chance the DVD order for your show exists and helps any - there’s a DVDOrderAgent that’s very helpful once you rename all your episodes to the correct order (the DVD order in this case being correct). There are several third party anime and other Agents that could possibly help, but as we discover every day it takes a lot of hard work to set up and more hard work to repair after Plex comes along and destroys everything with the - yep - TVDB order.

If you can’t live with the TVDB order and you want to go 10 rounds with Plex I suggest you wuss out right now and use a ‘Other Videos’ Library - formerly known as Home Videos. Plex won’t try to match anything in that library, nor will it even try to download any artwork or descriptions leaving you to build your own happy place.

The bad part is having to build it from the ground up, but the good part is Plex won’t come along after you do and bulldoze it back to the ground.

thank you for the reply, i can understand and appreciate this! I get what you are saying!

I noticed that the episodes out of order based by date and not season/episode!

as you can see via the link below, episode 49 was released 2015-09-03 which puts episode 49 after episode 43 but before 44 which aired 2015-08-24 and 2015-09-18. It looks like PLEX is sorting by date & not season / epsiode …

am I crazy?

I had this problem too. The latest server version fixed it up for me (Version 1.3.3.3148 ) Maybe a server update is all it will take if you are on an older version. Started happening beginning with server Version 1.3.0

You’re right. Yes, that will get them back on episode number instead of air date which fixed our issue. If the TVDB order is the order @southwind19 wants that will do it.

I realize this is an ancient post, but I’m having the same problem with Paw Patrol. I’m running the latest build of Plex. All the files seem to be distributed with two eps per video (since they air that way) - e.g. “Paw.Patrol.S06E01E02.Pups.Save.The.Jungle.Penguins-Pups.Save.A.Freighter”, and I assume that’s why Plex shows the wrong episode labels / imgs in the menu.

Is there anyway to convince Plex to label these properly without splitting them up into separate eps?

Thanks!

This is a late response but I just acquired Paw Patrol. I have 5 seasons and was able to database them as follows:
TELEVISION > Paw Patrol > Season 01 (separate folders for each season) > Paw Patrol - S01E01 - Pups And The Kitty-Tastrophe - Pups Save The Train.mp4
[ The folder also has Season 01 Episodes 02-26 in the same folder]

I’m still trying to resolve an issue with separate Paw Patrol DVD’s and having them show up properly.
